In the history, Blogger was launched on August 1999, and was purchased by Google in 2003. While WordPress came after on May, 2003.

WordPress vs Blogger – Prices

Blogger: Price

Blogger comes with free Google hosted ( yoursite.blogspot.com ) and no need to buy extra storage. That means it is completely free to use and install.

There is an important remark that must be highlighted about wordpress.com vs wordpress.org

WordPress.com is an easy-to-use shared hosting service. It enables the user to set up a free blog (sitename.wordpress.com) with restricted storage, themes, and plugins. Users can also purchase monthly site hosting starting from $2, likely including a domain name on Dreamhost and Namecheap.

WordPress.org is a PHP Self Hosted ( VPS ) which allows users to install a WordPress starting at $5 monthly.

A Google account allows the user to create a blog, select a domain name (sitename.blogspot.com), and publish it online.

It typically depends on which kind of web hosting users select.

Shared Hosted: At its most basic, all users need to do is join up for a free account, choose a theme, and begin publishing. or they can buy the hosting, and connect their exciting domain name.

VPS Hosted: It is the user’s responsibility to maintain the site outside of the capabilities provided by the hosting provider, as well as to add plugins and other components for customizing the site.

WordPress vs Blogger – SEO

WordPress: SEO

WordPress has a plethora of built-in SEO tools. You can set permalinks, which are static URLs, and you can also crawl and ping.

Yoast SEO is one worth noting. It is one of the most popular WordPress SEO plugins, as well as one of the most popular plugins in the world. They have an excellent free version available.

Blogger‘s templates also allow you to adjust various on-page and on-site SEO elements. You can also customize permalinks.

The primary disadvantage of Blogger SEO is that the Blogger platform gives enough tools to assist you in ranking provided your content is quality. After all, it is *owned by Google*.

WordPress vs Blogger – Monetization

Monetization is something that practically every blogger wants to pursue. The good news is that monetization is possible on both the WordPress and Blogger platforms. The user will require an AdSense account and some code, but other than that, they can rapidly show advertising on your WordPress or Blogger blog.

WordPress vs Blogger – Which one is the Best

To share my experiences and trials with Blogger and WordPress, I will suggest that both are advised to own in order to improve your business, brand, etc. However, there is a significant difference between having a blog on WordPress and having a blog on Blogger.

  • Blogger is ideal for your budget if you cannot afford to spend up to $5 monthly. Because, unlike blogger.com, hosting your website on WordPress will not be always free.
  • If you want to establish a business and build a professional website with e-commerce in order to gain thousands of visitors and make sales, WordPress is the way to go. Because you will need to install several plugins and extend your website with WordPress features likeย ( Cyber Panel, Plesk…).
  • If your objective is to start generating money and linking Google AdSense to your site, both Blogger and WordPress are qualified to start earning money from visitors after presenting adverts between posts. However, owning a WordPress website may offer you extra earnings.

Conclusion

Overall, a quick comparison of Blogger vs WordPress shows that both services are effective for creating, owning, and sharing content. Although WordPress exceeds Blogger in terms of performance, many of us prefer free products. One thing is certain: beginners may begin with Blogger and later are able to make a transition to WordPress.

Blogger, on the other hand, has several drawbacks. One of the primary drawbacks is that you do not have as much control over your site as you do with WordPress. It allows you to customize it by installing plugins and themes.
